Non Case Study: Sam Jayne Designs
We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Sam, the founder of Sam Jayne Design, in our Now or Never (NoN) Studios.
Sam Jayne Design is a fun creative design studio that creates relatable products to make people smile.
Sam has worked with our NoN Studios for some of her products, so we caught up with her to learn more about her journey, her uplifting designs, and why getting the printing just right is essential to her business.
About Sam Jayne
Sam’s story began in 2018 when she felt her corporate job lacked the creative freedom she craved. Seeking a creative outlet, she started making relatable, funny designs in her free time.
She quickly built up a following on Instagram, and within a year, Sam took the leap to leave her job and focus entirely on Sam Jayne Design. With a background in pattern design, Sam initially worked on projects for others but soon developed her own distinct style.
Over time, her work evolved into the signature colourful and uplifting designs we see today, all crafted at home in her pink office with her dog Millie by her side.
Thoughts Behind The Designs
A lot of Sam’s work is centred around positivity. Her designs are filled with bright, vibrant colours and meaningful quotes meant to inspire and bring joy.
For Sam, it’s crucial that when her designs are printed, the final product reflects the same boldness and vibrancy. Equally, one challenge Sam faced as a small business owner was finding high-quality products in smaller quantities.
Many suppliers require bulk orders, often from overseas. So, when Sam had an order to fulfil with Next, Sam came to us after first finding us through Raspberry Blossom.

Working With NON Studios
Due to working with NoN Studios, Sam could take advantage of low MOQ’s with short lead times, transforming ordinary blank items into something inspiring and joyful.
Sam’s beautifully designed mugs, once just blank products, are now available through major retailers like Next, showcasing the creative transformation you can do through NoN.
Among her favourite creations is the biscuit-themed mug, complete with a matching coaster,
printed here at our NoN Studios.
Loved By The Largest Retailers
Seeing her products available on Next’s website, is one of Sam’s biggest achievements. Sam has also had her cards featured in Tesco, another significant milestone.
Looking ahead, Sam has exciting plans; after attending Harrogate Home and Gift in July, she plans to showcase her work at another tradeshow next year.
Her Valentine’s Day range is also set to launch on the Next website, along with a brand-new cookware line, she’s currently cooking up.
Last Comments From Sam
While we had an independent business owner in the room, we lastly asked Sam if she had any business advice she could share. Sam is all about authenticity, she encourages small business owners to "stay in your own lane" and focus on what makes you unique.
While it’s natural to compare yourself to others, Sam believes that being true to yourself is what will set your business apart. She also emphasises the importance of not spreading yourself too thin, focusing on a few key things is more effective than trying to do everything at once.
